ROLE OF THE SCOREKEEPER
The scorekeeper is another official. Make sure your scorekeepers are aware of the role and the
responsibility it carries. The book is the official record of the game-if the scoreboard says your team is
up 18-16 but the scorebook says the game is 16-16 then the score is 16-16. Scorekeepers are responsible for
notifying the refs of team fouls (#7 and #10) and player fouls (#5). After each quarter they should
make sure the book and the scoreboard are "reconciled".
Info on the rules and the role of the scorekeeper can be found at

If the scorekeeper makes a mistake (in the vernacular, "blows a call") then it's a mistake and the game and
life go on. Just remember that the scorebook is the official version of "the game" and that the
responsibility of the scorekeeper is a big one.
