FACILITY RULES
Players, Parents, Fans and Coaches:
Players, coaches and fans must enter the Middle
Schools from the hallway entrance. The gym doors will be locked.
This was put in place to reduce the amount of water, sand and dirt being tracked into the gyms and onto the
gym floor. The only permissible consumable item in
any gym is WATER. No sports drinks, coffee, soda etc. The schools are really cracking down on this to
reduce/eliminate the litter and spillage issues.
We want to continue the excellent working relationship with have with
both our schools and the Parks and Recreation organization and their
facility supervisors. To do this, we all need to take responsibility
and ownership for the things we can control. To do this, I need
your help.
-The only consumable item that is permitted in the
gyms is WATER. It must be in a closable, sealable sports bottle. No sports
drinks, soda or coffee and NO FOOD of any kind (no cheerios, pretzels, etc. for
toddlers, no pizza, hamburgers etc. for the rest of us!!). Coffee IS NOT to be
brought into the gym by adults on game days
-No running in the hallways, bouncing balls in the
hallways or playing dangerously on the bleachers/stage.
-Players
should only be in the hallway for water and bathroom breaks. If a team is
waiting for their turn on the court-THEY MUST STAY IN THE GYM-no practicing in
the hallways.
-Coaches are responsible for supervising their
players. PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTROLLING THEIR CHILDREN. If brothers,
sisters, friends, cousins (etc.) come to watch a game or practice, they are the
responsibility of the adult that is with them. There has already been one
serious injury resulting from playing with a door.
-Basketballs ARE NOT to be brought to the gym by
any player on any game day. Coaches are the only individuals that are permitted
to bring basketballs to the gym on game days. When we discover players bringing
basketballs to the gym, the basketballs will be confiscated and/or placed
outdoors.
-While we want and encourage as many people as
possible to come watch our League's games, please also remember that the gym is
not a day care center!! Children left at the gym for hours on end under the
guise of watching games, often ARE NOT watching the games and are FREQUENTLY
playing in the halls, bleachers and so forth. Individuals found
loitering/playing in the hallways will be asked to return to the gym or will be
asked to leave the building.
-Failure to adhere to these rules can and will
result in removal from the gym. Repeat offenders can and will be barred from
League events.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
